Burning Up the Web - January Roundup

Teaser: January Web Roundup

I think there is more Vector and Illustrator stuff going on this month than I can cover in a roundup. That's definitely a good thing though. Also, some quick news: I've become part of the staff of PSDTUTS. I'd been a fan of that site for quite some time and it was a big inspiration for starting up AiBURN. I have to say I'm excited to create a similar community here, only it will be a vectorized community of course. Let's get to this month's Roundup.

So Much Goodness - So Little Time

That right there is enough visual stimulation to keep busy for days. Thankfully I've already seen a bunch of 'em otherwise I might have just had to flush this Wednesday down the toilet. I'm a sucker for great educational subject matter - especially involving AI.

Vonster's Tiger is a wonderful insight into how a true, seasoned professional goes from concept to completion, and the video tut on pattern brushes that was featured over on GoMedia is a gem.

Also, couldn't be happier to have my skate deck tutorial featured here. Thanks a lot, Sean!

I find that airflow gets blocked by cables in server racks. Cable management helps keep the exhaust clear from obstruction.

To get the exhaust from the computer out of the rack make sure you keep the ehaust from recirculating by sealing empty spaces in the front of the rack with filler panels.

Freelancing

Wow, when you said 'round-up' you sure meant 'comprehensive!' Thank you for these links – they're brilliant.
As far as Go Freelance is concerned : I've been freelancing for a year now and I must say it is definitely worth it. Although, it has been difficult in many ways; only financially; I have to say that it still has been worth it. Anyone who is thinking of it should think of it seriously : there is a lot of business out there, and many people prefer working with freelancers because the rates are cheaper and they can have a better relationship with them. So, as soon as you can, do it!
